Marc Elrich: Rhetoric vs Reality

Marc Elrich makes big promises but has failed to deliver, even when given the opportunity. Montgomery County has to do better.

Racial Equity

Rhetoric: Marc Elrich says he believes in equity and inclusiveness.
Reality: Two years after he signed legislation to create a Racial Equity and Social Justice Policy there is no policy.

Housing

Rhetoric: He says he supports affordable housing and expanding housing options.
Reality: He opposes virtually every proposal that will actually provide it.

Environment

Rhetoric: Marc Elrich points to the “climate action plan” as his climate change accomplishment.
Reality:  He left land use out of his plan because he said it was in the Thrive 2050 Master Plan, but he’s opposed to Thrive 2050.

Economic Growth

Rhetoric: Marc Elrich has promised to grow the economy.
Reality: He sends mixed signals to developers and business people discouraging them from operating in Montgomery County.

Transportation

Rhetoric: March Elrich claims to bring creative solutions to make your commute easier.
Reality: Under his leadership, he has not advanced any local or regional projects that would significantly improve our roads or transit options.
